Computer Science Society - for students interested in technology and entrepreneurship, CSS hosts guest lectures, workshops, hackathons, collaborative projects, and more.

INT.ENT - a graduate student club for those interested in entrepreneurship

[email protected] - the Shea Center's student executive team inspiring students to make their ideas happen

Accelerators and Incubators

SSC Summer Accelerator - a summer accelerator program for BC startups. Provides workshops, office space, coaching and $5k in seed funding

[email protected] - a 9-week accelerator program that provides student startups with expert advice, space, and funding to launch and grow their business. Teams will engage with mentors in round-robin workshops and one-on-one office hour sessions. Applications open in November.

Hackathons and Competitions

Elevator Pitch Competition - Prepare a 60 second pitch for your business idea and present to a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs. 15 teams, $1500 in awards.

Strakosch Venture Competition - university-wide business plan competition designed to promote and support entrepreneurship. Winning team will receive $7,500, runner-up will receive $5,000, third place will receive $2000 and crowd favorite will receive $500

University Resources

Edmund H. Shea Center for Entrepreneurship - University center that offers curricular activities, events and workshops, funding resources, and experiential programs

BC Technology & Entrepreneurship Council (BC TEC) - Alumni council that provides career development opportunities and networking events to students interested in entrepreneurship and technology. Programming across Boston and NYC.

Startup & Entrepreneurship Fair - a career fair for those interested in joining the Boston startup community

SSC Venture Partners - In addition to being a venture fund, SSC provides students with a robust mentor/alumni network as well as coaching, student organization partnerships, and workshops. Administers the SSC Summer Accelerator.

Lunch with an Entrepreneur - weekly entrepreneur visits to campus hosted by the Shea Center

[email protected] Shea - geographically focused courses that combine classroom learning on the BC campus with a field study in innovative cities nationally and internationally. The courses involve ~25 master-class sessions with senior executives, entrepreneurs, and venture partners (mostly BC alumni). Students will study tech industry strategy and competition, entrepreneurship, and venture finance.

Shea Center internship program - For undergraduate freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Students must obtain their internship on their own. If accepted, the student will receive a stipend of $1000.00 and is required to check in once during the internship with a Shea faculty member and write 3 blog posts throughout the internship discussing what they learned.
