Innov8MD (in conjunction with other Maryland universities) - Hosts a large conference in the fall to celebrate student entrepreneurs and a dinner series in the spring to help them build connections in Maryland's entrepreneurial ecosystem; Innov8MD's website, blog, and social media sites are the go-to sources of information about opportunities and resources for student entrepreneurs in Maryland

Women in Business - Organization empowering undergraduate women to become business leaders

Accelerators and Incubators

FFU Spark - Early-stage track for teams looking to validate their startup, small business, or nonprofit ideas; $1,000 in funding upon completion, with a chance to win an additional $1,000 at Demo Day

FFUEL - Later-stage track designed to help ventures get market/investor ready; $5,000 in non-dilutive funding, with a chance to win an additional $10,000 at Demo Day

The Hatchery (affl. TCO Labs) - Open to student teams at any stage, working in any industry, on any type of product -- from web applications to medical devices. The only requirement is that the team is dedicated to making their idea a reality

Emergence Baltimore - An immersive, live-in accelerator where you'll spend 3 months working alongside other dedicated founders to make massive strides with your business venture.

The Social Innovation Lab - An early-stage incubator founded by Johns Hopkins students for entrepreneurs developing promising solutions to local and global problems

Hackathons and Competitions

MedHacks - Student-run event that focuses on innovating at the crossroads of medical entrepreneurship and technological development; Largest medical hackathon in the world

HopHacks - 36-hour biannual Hackathon held at Johns Hopkins University that encourages engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs to explore new ideas and create new applications

Johns Hopkins University Business Plan Competition - Hosted by the Center for Leadership Education, the Johns Hopkins University Business Plan Competition provides an opportunity for students to take a novel idea and develop a business plan around it; Over two stages of competition held during the spring of each year, students build an understanding of their target market and competitors, craft an effective market entry strategy, and present their plans to industry professionals and venture capitalists on competition day

FastForwardU - An array of resources---including lab and co-working spaces---designed to encourage collaboration and help startups move to the marketplace

Center for Leadership Education - Houses six academic programs and a variety of experiential programs in a student-centered environment; Full-time faculty are seasoned professionals in their disciplines as well as experienced teachers and mentors, and they are complemented by part-time faculty who are active practitioners in their fields; Whether a student wants to start a business, find an internship or hash through career decisions, he or she will find an open door and a resourceful sounding board in CLE faculty
